Two persons died and six others were injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir, a police statement said on Friday. Earlier today, an auto load carrier bearing registration number JK03/7610 hit and injured a pedestrian Ali Mohammad Wani, a resident of Danaw Kandimarg at Chowalgam. The injured was shifted to the hospital, however, he succumbed on his way to hospital. A case has been registered in this regard.

In another incident, a tipper bearing registration number JK08A/6194 fell into river Jehlum near Lelhar Kakpora, Pulwama, resulting in death of the driver Anayatullah Sofi, a resident of Watalpora, Rawalpora, Srinagar. Later body of the driver was fished out with the help of fire services and locals. The body was handed over to his relatives for last rites. A case has been registered in this regard.

The police statement further said that an A-Star car, bearing registration number JK03C/3871 and Maruti Car 800 bearing registration number JK03C/9646 collided at Halmullah, Islamabad. The driver of A-Stat vehicle Showket Qadir Sofi , a resident of Janglat Mandi Islamabad was injured in the mishap. The injured has been shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.

Further, a Bus bearing registration number JK05/0395 hit and injured Waqar Ahmed Mir, a resident of Nowshera Boniyar near B.Ed Collage Kichama falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sheeri, Baramulla. The injured was shifted to Sub District, Hospital Sheeri for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.

A tipper bearing registration number JK05C/1425 and Bus bearing registration number JK01K/8372 collided at Barsoo resulting in minor injuries to two passengers, the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.

Meanwhile, a scooter bearing registration number JK01/8807 hit and injured a pedestrian Said Bin Yousuf, a resident of Wadvan Budgam near Ibrahim Colony Hyderpora, Srinagar. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
