Two Drug Peddlers Arrested in Kashmir, Heroin-Like Substance Seized

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police in Budgam arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

During a checkpoint operation near Sports Stadium Charar-I-Sharief, a police team from Police Station Charar-I-Sharief intercepted a load carrier for routine checking. Upon searching the vehicle, they recovered heroin-like substances in two separate paper rolls, weighing approximately 12 grams.

“The two individuals on board, identified as Imran Ahmad Qasba, son of Nazir Ahmad Qasba, a resident of Mehjoor Nagar, Srinagar, and Imran Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah, a resident of Mangan Wachi, Kanipora, Srinagar, were arrested on the spot. The vehicle used in the crime was also seized. Accordingly, an FIR (No. 15/2025) under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Charar-I-Sharief, and an investigation is underway,” a police spokesperson in a statement said.

The police urge the public to report any drug peddling or criminal activity by contacting the nearest police station or dialing 112. Authorities have assured strict action against offenders in accordance with the law.
