Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two bootleggers and recovered illicit liquor from Pattan area of Baramulla District.
Following a tip off, a police party of Police Station Pattan intercepted a Maruti car bearing registration number JK05/6081 and on its checking police recovered 45 bottles of illicit liquor, police said in a statement.
Two bootleggers identified as Jahangir Hussain Magray son of Mohammad Ibrahim and Muzaffar Ahmad son of Ali Mohammad both resident of Kainloo Pattan who were travelling in the vehicle have been taken into custody, the statement added.
A case (FIR 51/2017) has been registered against them and furthers investigation has been taken up, police said.
