SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two-hybrid militants in north Kashmir’s Bandipora and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.

A police spokesman in a statement said that based on a specific input regarding the movement of Hybrid militants from Bandipora to Srinagar, a joint Naka was established near Wullar Vantage Aragam by Bandipora police,13RR Army and 3rd BN CRPF.

“While conducting a search of pedestrians and vehicles two individuals were observed moving suspiciously in an Alto Car bearing Reg. No. JK13G- 6139, who tried to conceal their identity on seeing the Naka party,” said the spokesman.

“On being challenged, the suspicious persons tried to break the checkpoint and were tactfully apprehended,” he said.

“They have been identified as Abid Ali son of Ali Mohd Parray, age 27 R/o and Faisal Hassan Parray, age 21 years S/o Gh Hassan Parray both resident of Herpora Achan Pulwama,” he added.

“During a search of the said individuals and vehicle, 01 AK-47 rifle,02 Magazines with 30 live Rounds,01 Pistol, 01 Magzine with 04 live Rounds and 04 Pistol fired cases were recovered,” he further added.

“Case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered & further Investigation was taken up. Further arrests are expected,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
