Two residents of Kashmir have been arrested from Delhi with the police claiming that the duo was suspected to be associated with Islamic State group, a news gatherer IANS reported.

The suspects were arrested from the Red Fort area on Thursday night, IANS quoted Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, P.S. Kushwah as saying.

Kushwah said the arrested were suspected to be associated with the Jammu and Kashmir franchise of the group.

The group is not known to have a physical presence in Jammu and Kashmir and the state police have been denying that IS militants were operating from there, report said.
