Two Kashmiris Attacked in Delhi

Two Kashmiri students in Delhi have reportedly been thrashed by some Scorpio-borne youth near Maa Anandamayee Marg in southeast Delhi’s Govindpuri area.

The incident which happened this past Thursday left Mohammed Shakeer (22) and Muneeb Geelani (22) of Srinagar with life-threatening injuries.

The duo was heading towards a friend’s residence in Tara Apartment in their Maruti Ritz when they were honked repeatedly by a Scorpio despite there being no space around to move.

When the duo objected, two unidentified men, aged around 25 years, got off the SUV with a baseball bats and smashed the windshield of their Ritz car. They attackers also thrashed them with the baseball bat and fled the scene. The boys were immediately shifted to hospital. A police official said that a case has been registered in this regard

Meanwhile, the investigation has turned a little more difficult for the cops with the registration number noted by the victims not matching the concerned car. The police are now monitoring CCTV grabs obtained from the area and questioning locals for leads into the probe, said an official.
