Two children have been killed and 11 people are missing in the cloudbursts that hit the Baltal area in Sonamarg.
“Two children aged 11 and 13 were killed by a cloudburst that hit the area near the Amarnath Yatra base camp late last night,” a police officer was quoted as having said. He said the children worked at shops near Amarnath Yatra base camp.
Ten people were injured in the cloudbursts. One of them with serious injuries has been shifted to a Srinagar hospital.
“Eleven people are still missing and we are taking a headcount at the camp to find out the exact details,” the police officer added.
Multiple cloudbursts had killed three people on July 16 in Kulan village on the Srinagar-Leh Highway.
