SRINAGAR: Two people were killed and nine others injured in a road accident involving a Tempo and a Tata Mobile near Chattiyar-Chingus in Rajouri district early Tuesday morning.
An official stated that the collision triggered an immediate rescue operation involving the Army, the Police, and local teams. All the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, though their condition was not immediately known.
The deceased were identified as Insha Fatima (26), daughter of Akhtar Ali of Dhanwan Kote, and Farzana Begum (50), wife of Mohammad Iqbal from Fatehpur. The injured were later referred to GMC Rajouri for specialised treatment, the official added.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident, and further investigation is underway. (JKNS)
