Two militant associates arrested in Kashmir: Police

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday claimed to have arrested two associates of militants belonging to f Hizbul Mujahideen outfit in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A police spokesman in a statement said that they have been identified as Sayar Ahmad Shah resident of Tral and Tanseem @ Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh resident of Awantipora.

“As per police records they are involved in assisting active militants of proscribed outfit HM operating in the areas of Tral and Awantipora,” said the spokesman.

“As per the investigations, they were providing logistic support and shelter to the active militants of HM. Incriminating material have been recovered from their possession,” he said.

“Cases vide FIR numbers 46/2020 and 68/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Tral and PS Awantipora respectively. Further investigation into the cases is in progress,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
