SRINAGAR:Jammu and Police on Tuesday said that it booked two ‘most wanted’ drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla and lodged them in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu.

An Police spokesperson said that the most wanted and notorious drug smugglers namely Shahid Manzoor Dar son of Manzoor Ahmad Dar resident of Mohalla Mir Sahib Baramulla and Shabir Ahmad Wani @ Hubba son of Jalal-ud-Din resident of Singhpora have been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority.

“The booked drug smugglers have been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu,” he said.

“Pertinent to mention here that many cases are registered against these drug smugglers and were involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Baramulla, Pattan and other areas of District,” he said.

“Despite their involvement in many FIR’s they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth,” the spokesperson said.
