Two women died Monday afternoon in Gondho Bhalessa area of Doda district in Chenab Valley.
Reports reaching here said that the women belonged to same family. They had gone to a remote forest area in Cheer topan Dhar of Bhalessa, both of them were cutting grass for their live stock and all of sudden they came under heavy boulders and debris.
“One of the lady lost her life on the spot whereas another died in the Changa hospital. The lady died on the spot was identified as Shreena Begum wife of Abdul Rehman. Rubina Banoo daughter of Abdul Rehman of Suiti Changa Bhalessa died in the Changa hospital. It is said that both of them were critically injured, the lady who died on the spot was recovered from the debris after three hours and Rubina was shifted to the hospital in a deteriorating condition, reports said.
In last four months over a dozen persons have lost their lives in different areas of Chenab Valley due to landslides and heavy boulders in the and more than three dozen persons received injuries. The dead bodies were sent to their native village for burial .
Police have registered a case for further investigation.
