The special team of Jammu and Kashmir Police along with National Investigating Agency (NIA) have arrested six persons in connection with the Udhampur attack.

Official sources told Srinagar-based news agency GNS that the police and NIA in joint raids made the arrests following the capture of Naveed, one of the militants involved in attack on BSF in Udhampur, who was captured alive by locals and VDC members.

Out of six, the three held persons were identified as Javaid Ahmad Parray son of Mohammad Jabbar, Fayaz Ahmad Wani, his brother Javaid Ahmad Wani sons of Mohammad Shaban. The three persons are hailing from Chursoo, Awantipora in South Kashmir.

Sources said that the arrested persons are being questioned by probe teams of NIA and police. Meanwhile, the police brought the captured militant to Kashmir and he is being interrogated further.

It has been learnt that more arrests would likely take place in coming days and the NIA and police have stepped up their probe.

The attack in Udhampur along Srinagar-Jammu highway left two BSF personal dead and 11 others injured. A militant was also killed in the ensuing gunfire.
