According to a spokesperson of the Directorate of Colleges, J&K, the admission process for UG and Integrated PG programmes in Government Degree Colleges across Jammu and Kashmir was initiated through Admission Advertisement Notice No. DC-HE/2026/1469 dated May 2, 2026.

The spokesperson said the last date for submission of online applications and preferences was later extended up to May 30 through Notice No. DC-HE/2026/1664 dated May 27 in response to representations received from aspirants. Subsequently, the Round-1 College/Major Allotment List was published on the centralised admission portal on June 2.

Following further representations, the deadline for online fee submission by Round-1 allotted candidates was extended till June 8, while the schedule for physical verification of documents at allotted colleges was also revised accordingly.

Candidates who were not allotted any college or programme in Round-1 were allowed to modify their college and programme preferences on the admission portal between June 8 and June 10 for consideration in Round-2.

The spokesperson said the Round-2 Allotment List, comprising both upgradations and fresh allotments, has been made available on the admission portal, and candidates can log in to check their allotment status and complete the admission process.

As per the notified schedule, candidates allotted seats in Round-2 must deposit the prescribed admission fee online between June 13 and June 18, 2026, up to 5:00 PM. Physical verification of original documents at the allotted colleges will be conducted from June 13 to June 19.

The last date and time for completion of all admission formalities has been fixed as June 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM.

The department clarified that the procedure for Round-2 will remain similar to Round-1. However, there will be no option for further upgradation during this round.

It warned that failure to complete admission formalities within the stipulated timeframe will result in cancellation of the Round-2 allotment, and the seat will be made available in the forthcoming Spot Round for vacant seats.

The department said the schedule for the Spot Round will be notified separately on the admission portal.

The spokesperson further advised candidates to ensure that all information submitted during the admission process is accurate, stating that any incorrect claim regarding marks, category, eligibility or other admission-related details may lead to rejection of candidature at any stage.

Applicants have also been asked to use valid mobile numbers and email addresses for admission-related communication and regularly visit the admission portal for updates, notices, merit lists and schedules.

The department reiterated that no request for changes in merit-related information will be entertained and that the decisions of the Admission Committee or Competent Authority regarding eligibility, merit, verification and seat allotment will be final and binding.

Candidates have been advised to follow the admission portal and the official Admissions 2026–27 WhatsApp channel for regular updates.
