Conglomerate of militant outfits, United Jihad Council Tuesday alleged that India is busy in constructing an embankment (high wall) along Line of Control and Prime Minister of Pakistan must raise this issue during his address to United Nations.

In a statement to CNS, Spokesperson United Jihad Council Syed Sadaqat Hussain while quoting Hizb Chief Syed Sallahuddin said, “in a bid to divide two parts of Kashmir and to turn the temporary border into a permanent one, India has been constructing a great wall all around Kashmir and on experimental basis India has started its work on a 100 Kilometre stretch along the Ceasefire Line.”

“United Jihad Council appeals Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Nawaz Sharif, to raise the issue during his address in UN and make the member countries aware about the sinister designs of India. This act of India which is contrary to the UN Resolutions will have serious ramifications and it could be the source of a major disaster,” Sallahuddin said.

Lauding the role of Pakistan PM, Sallahuddin said that last year Nawaz Sharif represented the “Kashmiri sentiments in a true manner” and, “they are hopeful this time too he will repeat the history and will raise the Kashmir issue in United Nations.”

“They expect that Nawaz Sharif will adopt a positive approach and will represent the Hurriyat sentiments in the same way as he had represented last year,” the statement said.

During the meeting as per spokesperson, the attack on Kashmiri prisoners in Sub Jail Baramulla was condemned and it was pledged that such assaults will not be tolerated.

UJC also condemned the arrest of youth for painting walls with pro-freedom slogans in South Kashmir’s Pulwama and Islamabad districts. “During the meeting rich tributes were paid to martyrs and it was reiterated that Kashmir Freedom Struggle will continue till it is not taken to its logical end,” the statement reads.
