People’s conference chairman and former minister Sajad Gani Lone on Thursday said that Srinagar will have a Mayor from his party Peoples Conference.

Taking to social networking site Twitter Lone wrote: “All set Inshaallah to have the first mayor from PC. Expecting very good results. Time to give Srinagar what it deserves. A set of hardworking people who work there on the ground.”

“And PC all set to take over urban bodies in Kupwara Handwara Langet sumbal Pattan among others. Let us hope we r able to contribute to planned urbanisation which I believe is the future,” Lone wrote in another tweet.

Before two days, the BJP state president Ravinder Raina also said that Jammu and Srinagar will have BJP mayors”. He claimed that the party will win 15 municipal committees in the Valley

“This time, lotus will not only bloom in Jammu but in Kashmir Valley as well. BJP will have its mayors in both the capital cities of the state,” Raina said while addressing a press conference in Jammu. “We will also have our chairmen in at least 15 Municipal Committees (MCs) in the valley.”

Earlier, governor Malik had stoked controversy for his remarks on Srinagar mayor.
