The internet services were restored on Thursday in Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir after remaining suspended for a day.

The services were snapped yesterday early morning soon after an encounter started in Fateh Kadal area of the district. The internet services were also resumed in Pulwama district of south Kashmir today morning.

The internet services were suspended following the killing of a civilian. A civilian identified as Rayees Ahmed, a resident of Fateh Kadal was killed during an encounter between the government forces and militants. Rayees was later buried along with two militants at Eidgah graveyard in Srinagar amid pro-freedom slogans.
