According to statement, the members in large numbers met to condemn the desecration of Jamia Masjid and demanded an immediate release of the arrested youth along with Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir.

Moulana Nisar Ahmed Nayeemi said, “the continuous arrest of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir is a testimony to the fact that the state is fearful of Mirwaiz Yasir, but they cannot stop the party as the party has spread its roots to nooks and corners of Southern Kashmir. The people associated to Mirwaiz Yasir religiously are also not spared”.

“Feroz Ahmed Haji who runs a charitable trust owned by Mirwaiz Yasir was also not spared, he was arrested yesterday. Gulzar Madni who has a religious affiliation to Mirwaiz Yasir was also imprisoned for many days which is sheer frustration” he said.

Riyaz Ahmed, District President of Ummat e Islami for Islamabad demanded the early release of Mirwaiz Yasir, Feroz Haji and all the youth who have been picked up in the town. He said the state Government should also intervene in the matter of desecration of Jamia Masjid.

Pertinently Qazi Yasir had been arrested on July 8 on the way to Tral in Kashmir.
