The momentary undeclared restrictions in city centre Lal Chowk Wednesday led to massive traffic gridlocks troubling commuters and shoppers.

Since early morning the main city centre from Regal Chowk to Amira Kadal was sealed with concertina wires and police stoppers to stop the proposed protest program of JKLF to mark the death anniversary of its founder Muhammad Maqbool Bhat.

Traffic was forced to divert taking alternative routes resulting in “traffic havoc” in the city centre.

Commuters from old city Srinagar took 45 minutes to travel the otherwise 10 minute distance.
