Minister for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari Saturday informed the House that 229691 kanals of state land has been transferred to 50157 beneficiaries under Roshni scheme in the state.

Replying to a question by Mubarak Gul the Minister said that 19293 kanals of state land were transferred in Kashmir division to 10328 beneficiaries under Roshni scheme while as 210398 kanals of state land were transferred in Jammu division to 39829 beneficiaries under the scheme, an official spokesperson said this evening.

The Minister said that revenue of Rs 77 Crore has been realized in the state under Roshni Act which include Rs 500 realized from one Bilal Ahmad and Tariq Ahmad Wani R/o Gojwara in Eidgah constituency.

Bukhari said that Jammu and Kashmir Land Records Management Agency- a nodal Agency of Revenue Department has outsourced the activities of the project modernization of Land Records in the State including Digitization of revenue records in a phased manner.

The Minister said that in Phase First work of computerization of land records for two districts of Jammu and Srinagar has been outsourced and it is targeted to be completed within 28 months. He said that the revenue records of the remaining districts of the State would be computerized in Phase-II and Phase-III i.e. up to 2021-22.

The Minister said that J&K Land Records Management Agency (JKLRMA) has outsourced the execution of project activities to M/S RAMTECH Software Solutions Pvt Ltd, a Noida based IT and ITTES Company.

Replying to another question by Rajiv Jasrotia, the Revenue Minister said that Rs 78.47 crore have been generated on account of regularization of unauthorized land under Roshni Act.

The Minister said that the Empowered Committee has approved the conferment of ownership rights for the State land measuring 487 kanals, 11 marlas and 126 sfts out of which 327 kanal, 12 marlas have been regulated/transferred under the Roshni scheme within the Srinagar Municipal Corporation limits.

“Total State land measuring 16825 kanal 5 marla comprising of 4040 cases of beneficiaries have been regularized in Tehsil Jammu including the area falling within the limits of Jammu Municipal Corporation,” the Minister said.

The Minister said that under the Jammu and Kashmir State Lands (vesting of ownership to the occupants) Act 2001 provides that funds generated shall be utilized to finance Power projects in the State.
