Unknown gunmen on Thursday evening shot at a woman leaving her badly wounded in Katrasoo village of southern district of Kulgam .
Few unidentified gunmen barged into the residence of Mohammad Shrif Bhat of Katrasoo and shot at her daughter, police officials said, identifying her as Suraya.
The bullet had hit Suraya’s leg, reports said. She was referred to District Hospital- Kulgam immediately where from doctors referred her to SMHS hospital Srinagar.
We have referred her for specialized treatment after covering the wound, said a doctor at Kulgam hospital, who termed her condition as ‘stable’.
Pertinently, reports said that Suraya is wife of Ishaq alias Aashiq Reshi son of Abdul Majid Reshi, civilian who was killed during encounter in February in Frisal village of Kulgam district.
Family of Reshi alleged that he was killed by government forces.
The house of Reshi’s was razed to ground and four Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants were killed.
In the encounter two army men were also killed other two were others injured.
Later one more civilian was killed during clashes that erupted following the protest by people to help the besieged militants flee.
