A minor girl was killed in a road accident when she was hit by a tipper which ran over her at Awantipora, police said Monday evening.
She was identified as Seerat Amin daughter of Mohammad Amin of Ladermiund.
In another case, police said that one unidentified person died when fire broke out in the shops at Herri Kupwara. The fire damaged the shops completely.
Police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the identity and cause of the death of a person who died in this incident.
In two separate incidents, fire broke out in Bandipora district damaging two residential houses at Ajas and Ashtengoo, Bandipora.
