SRINAGAR: An unidentified woman was found in the River Jhelum near the Nawa Kadal area of Srinagar on Friday and was later declared dead at a hospital, officials said.
The woman was retrieved from the river and taken to a hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Her identity has not yet been established, and the circumstances leading to her death remain unclear.
The body has been kept for identification and completion of legal formalities. Authorities have initiated proceedings to establish the circumstances of the incident.
