SRINAGAR: The body of an unidentified woman, believed to be aged between 20 and 25 years, was recovered from the Salal Dam area of Reasi district on Saturday morning, officials said.
Following the recovery, personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Reasi, a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team and Police Post Talwara reached the spot.
Police took the body into custody and initiated legal proceedings, while efforts were being made to establish the identity of the deceased.
Further details about the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death were awaited.
