Uproar in Assembly over Jehlum dredging

Jammu and Kashmir government faced protest in the house over Jehlum dredging project in the legislative assembly.

 

As soon as question hour started in the house ruling PDP MLA Sonawar Mohad Ashraf  Mir didn’t satisfy by the answer of the Flood and Irrigation Minister Sham Lal.

 

MLA Sonawar alleged that the PM package for the dredging was not utilized till now and alleged that the Minister is diverting the attention of the house.

 

He said that danger is looming Srinagar as no work was done from Pampore to Sonawar after three years.

 

He criticized the government for the slow work.

 

He was joined by MLA Khanyar Ali Mohammad Sagar said that what is the vision about the project of dredging the river Jehlum.

 

MLA Kulgam M Y Tarigami said we need a concrete action plan for the dredging of the Jehlum river.

 

All the protesting members requested the speaker to constitute the house committee regarding the dredging the river Jehlum.
