Defying the police claim that three militants were killed in early Friday morning encounter in Uri, army this evening claimed of killing “one militant and injuring another”.
“In early hours of 03 July, Army troops along the Line of Control in forested area near Torna picked up movement of an infiltration group along Hapathkai Nala. The area has a robust counter infiltration grid and the infiltration was detected within meters of the Line of Control,” an army statement said.
“A fierce encounter ensued between the Army soldiers and the heavily armed terrorists resulting in the killing of one terrorist and one was injured,” the statement added. “The balance terrorists took cover in the dense jungle and rocky terrain. As per last reports, operation is still in progress.”
