A search operation was started on Sunday morning after the Army received information about the presence of militants in Kalgai village in the Uri sector. After an encounter broke out between the militants and forces, several villagers were shifted to safer places, reports said. One soldier and four civilians were injured in the gunfight.

Meanwhile, latest reports from Uri said that the dead bodies of three militants were handed over to local police for burial.

They said that the body of fourth militant was also recovered but it is yet to be handed over to the police.

During the encounter four houses were destroyed, reports added. The houses belonged to Israeel, Ashraf, Bashir and Qasim.
