Hurriyat (M) conference on Wednesday strongly condemned the brutal use of forces on the students including girls and children at Srinagar, Islamabad, Tral, Pulwama, Sopore, Baramulla  Ganderbal and elsewhere both inside and outside the premises of their educational institutions in which dozens of students were grievously injured.

The spokesman said that tear gas shells and baton charge were carried out against students protesting the heinous crime against little Asifa of Kathua. APHC said using force against students protesting the crime instead of providing them space and opportunity to express their feelings and put up their demands as is normal elsewhere is extremely unfortunate and reflects the vengeful mindset of the authorities.

Senior APHC leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza visited the district hospital Islamabad to inquire about the injured children. Waza strongly condemned the use of force by the police and paramilitary forces.

Meanwhile, APHC paid rich tributes to slain S Hameed on his 20th death anniversary stating that he was a man of conviction and principles who courageously stood against the forcible control of Kashmir throughout his life. He said that Hameed’s contribution towards Kashmir’s freedom struggle will always be remembered and appreciated. A delegation of APHC also visited his graveyard Eidgah and offered special Fatiah prayers in favour of Hameed.
