SRINAGAR: The Railway Recruitment Board has announced vacancies to fill up the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) in the Indian Railways. The last date to submit online applications is February 19, 2024
There are total 5696 vacancies available. Jammu-Srinagar railway board has 39 vacancies. The recruitment process includes First Stage CBT (CBT-1), Second Stage CBT (CBT-2), Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination (ME). The application fee is Rs 500. Out of this amount, Rs 400 will be refunded on appearing in First Stage CBT. The candidates belonging SC, ST or economically backward class, ex-servicemen, females and trans-genders have to pay Rs 250 as examination fee. This amount will be refunded on appearing in the first stage CBT. The information once filled can be modified until February 29, 2024.
Applicants interested in applying for the ALP post must have completed their 10th class education and possess an ITI Diploma from a recognised institute affiliated with NCVT/SCVT. The eligible trades for ITI include Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic (Radio/TV), Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Wireman, Tractor Mechanic, Armature and Coil Winder, Mechanical (Diesel), Heat Engine, Turner, Machinist, and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic.
The applicants should not be less than 18 years old and not more than 30 years old. The candidates belonging to special categories have some age relaxation. Interested candidates must be either citizen of India, or a citizen of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanent settling in India.
The basic salary for an RRB Assistant Loco Pilot is Rs 19,900, categorised within Level 2 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay scale. In addition to the basic pay, ALPs are entitled to various allowances and benefits including Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, Night Duty Allowance among others as per government norms. The total salary of ALPs lies between Rs 25,000 to Rs 35,000 per month.
