SRINAGAR

As per the reports, twelve members of a nomad family have been trapped at Chamgund village due to roaring waters of Jhelum’s tributary, Vaishaw Nallah in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Vaishaw’s ferocious flow has reportedly damaged bridges, diversions besides farmlands.

In last year’s September floods, Vaishaw went berserk and wreaked havoc in parts of Kulgam especially in Aringatnoo village, which was left completely destroyed by the waterbody.
