As per the latest gauge readings issued by Irrigation and Flood Control Department at 11am, the flood threat is looming large in south and central Kashmir.

In South Kashmir’s Sangam, the level of Jhelum was recorded as 27.15 feet, which is above danger mark.

In Central Kashmir’s Ram Munshibagh, the Jhelum was flowing above danger mark at 20.50 feet.

But the North Kashmir’s Asham, the Jhelum was flowing below danger mark at 12.25 feet.

Amid these figures, the govt played down the flood threat, saying it is just an “inundation”.
