National Conference senior leader Dr Shiekh Mustafa Kamal Saturdaysaid that some vested interests are hell-bent to uproot the industrial sector of Kashmir and for this purpose ‘hidden hands’ are active in every field.

Kamal told CNS that Industrial Sector that was established by late Shiekh Muhammad Abdullah is on the verge of extinction. “Most of the industries have become sick while the Industrial units occupied by security forces present a grim picture,” he said adding that under a well-planned conspiracy the industries of Kashmir is being targeted.

“Vested Interests don’t want to see Kashmir self-sufficient in every sector and they are active in paralyze every sector here on the one or the other pretext,” he said adding that there is a need to expose these elements.

Responding to a question, Kamal said that National Conference is in no mood to go for pre-poll alliance with Congress party. “Our party has learnt a lesson by running coalition government with the help of Congress party. NC has upper hand in 4 Parliament seats while Congress may won two seats. Any future course of action will be taken only after the elections are over,” he said.

Castigating Peoples Democratic Party for targeting NC, Kamal said that it is a wrong notion that people don’t participate in rallies addressed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. “Omar organized a rally for the first time in Tral where people in large numbers gathered around Chief Minister. The only motive of PDP is to dislodge NC from the Chair,” he said.

Describing Geelani as a leader without any political agenda, Kamal said that like PDP, Geelani’s only aim is to oust NC from power.

Kamal revealed that it was former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who offered hefty amount to Mufti Muhammad Sayeed in presence of Prof Bhim Singh to form Peoples Democratic Party. “PDP was formed to make NC week but at the end of the day it is NC which rules the roost,” he said.
