After sunny weather for almost a week, Kashmir valley receives fresh rainfall in plains and mild snowfall in hilly parts on Tuesday.

Officials in the MeT department said that isolated rainfall will continue in most parts of the valley until Friday.

Snowfall was also reported from some areas of Gurez in Bandipora District.

The weather is going to improve likely from Saturday, MeT officials predicted. MeT officials expect that mercury will rise up to two degrees from Monday.

Meanwhile, one-way traffic is plying from Srinagar to Jammu on Monday.

However, traffic was stopped at Qazigund due to bad weather.

“Heavy motor vehicles were stopped from 11 am while as more light motor vehicles have been halted at 1 pm,” traffic officials said.

1811 LMVs and 3591 HMV’s were allowed on the highway to move from Srinagar to Jammu.
