Police Friday arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairperson Muhammad Yasin Malik during a protest march against the killing of mother-son duo by a Village Defence Committee (VDC) member.
Three people, including the mother-son duo and a National Conference youth activist, were killed in past week by members of the VDC, a government militia.
Malik along with scores of protesters took out a rally in Maisuma after Friday prayers to demand disbanding of the “terror” group.
The protestors along with Malik were intercepted by Police resulting into clashes.
The protesters pelted stones on the forces who resorted to firing teargas shelling.
Malik was detained by police along with several other leaders during the clashes.
