SRINAGAR: The University of Waikato, New Zealand is offering admission to Indian students pursuing higher education under the Vice-Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship for India 2023. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to students enrolling in either undergraduate or postgraduate programs at the university. The last date to apply for the scholarship is December 31, 2023.

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be permanent residents of India. They should be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programme as a new international student at the University of Waikato and have secured a minimum GPA-equivalency of B+ in the qualification used to gain entrance to the University of Waikato.
The students must receive a conditional or unconditional offer of a place from the University of Waikato. Applicants gaining admission to the University of Waikato through a sponsoring body, Guaranteed Credit Arrangement, study abroad or student exchange agreement are ineligible for the scholarship.

The scholarship offers a one-time financial assistance of up to $15,000 (INR 12,47,985). The disbursal may vary, with some applicants receiving a portion ranging from $2,500 (INR 2,08,000) and upwards.

For Undergraduate Students, the scholarship lasts for one year tenure up to $8,000 applied to tuition fees in the first year of full-time study (minimum of 120 points). For more than one-year tenure, two years’ tenure: Up to 12,000 dollars, distributed as no more than 8,000 dollars in the first year and no more than 4,000 dollars in the second year and for three years’ tenure, up to 15,000 dollars, allocated as no more than 8,000 dollars in the first year, no more than 4,000 dollars in the second year, and no more than 3,000 dollars in the third year of full-time study.

For Postgraduate Students, The scholarship for postgraduate students has a one-year tenure, providing financial support of up to 15,000 dollars, applied to the first year of full-time postgraduate study.
