Srinagar: A formal case was registered by Vigilance Organization against police Constable Nazir Hussain Shah (601/J), posted at Police Station Mandi in Poonch District for indulging in corrupt practices.

The instant case has been registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by Muhammad Aslam, a resident of Sathra Tehsil Mandi District Poonch before the State Vigilance Commission J&K. Aslam alleged that Constable Nazir Hussain Shah had demanded and then accepted Rs 75,000 from the complainant in lieu of getting his son recruited as constable in Police Department.

The inquiry conducted reveals that said constable Nazir Hussain Shah had taken bribe up to the tune of Rs 75,000 from the complainant on the pretext of getting his son appointed in the Police Department.

On the prima facie establishment of the allegations, a formal case has been registered against the accused in Police Station, VOJ and investigations have been taken up. (CNS)
