Violent clashes are going on in Pulwama, the south Kashmir town and police is trying to disperse the hundreds of protesters who are on roads to mourn the death of a local militant, Altaf Bab, alias Gazi Baba. One more militant was killed on Thursday morning.
Altaf of Aglar Pakherpora was killed on Wednesday evening during an encounter in the Keller area.
The locals told Kashmir Life on phone that the town is witnessing a very tense situation as police uses tear smoke shells against the protesters.
Witnesses said that protesters attacked a Rakshak vehicle following which policemen lobbed teargas shells and resorted to baton charge. Clashes were on, when reports last came in.
