A violin playing programme for the cancer patients of SKIMS was organized on Tuesday by Medical Superintendent office SKIMS in collaboration with Anam Prem ( a family of volunteers enthusiastically dedicated towards cancer patients) in the auditorium of Sheri- Kashmir Institute of medical sciences.

An official statement said that the program was organized at a Ratlam for the cancer patients as an attempt to heal them spiritually and by sprinkling unconditional love on them by touching their ailing souls by musical therapy.

“The program was first of its kind in SKIMS wherein attempt was made to go beyond the lines of chemotherapy into the field of spirituality for the betterment of cancer patients,” the statement said.

“The cancer patients registered with SKIMS who are accommodated in SKlMS run Patient sarais were invited and Anam Prem volunteers played the violin to heal their wounds,” it said.

The Program was inaugurated by Director SKlMS st Ex officio Secretary to government Dr Omar Javed Shah and was attended by MS SKIMS Dr Farooq A Jan, HOD Hospital Administration and Faculty in charge Sarai Dr Ghulam H Yatto, Faculty of hospital administration, nursing incharges of all sections including that of cancer wards, residents of hospital administration and other supportive staff, said the statement.

Dr Bazila (RHA) anchored the programme and Dr Susan Jalali (RMO) extended vote of thanks.

  1. Have you ever heard of sakoone Qalb after listening to tilaawat Quran.
    I think we should promote and run tilaawat Quran
    for such patients and in ICU’s as well which I am sure, will definitely help these patients for ultimate healing of body, mind and soul.
