The state government Wednesday relieved all the government school-teachers deputed with different schemes.

The directions in this regard were passed by Governor N N Vohra following which an order was passed by the Secretary, School education.

“All the attachments of teachers, masters and lecturers with various sponsored schemes have been cancelled by the administrative department,” officials said.

In this major decision, JK Teachers’ Forum President Abdul Qayoom Wani, who was State Coordinator with a Union government sponsored scheme- SSA, has been transferred to a Government High School in his native village, Tangmarg.

Wani was recently in news when he had used “unsavoury” language against Director School Education Kashmir , however, he later defended saying, “I have not commented on any saint/angel. The director had called teachers Mafia.”

Speaking to Kashmir Life, Wani claimed the ‘brain behind’ such transfers was PDP spokesperson Naeem Akhtar. Akhtar was holding portfolio of education in late Mufti Sayeed led PDP-BJP coalition government.

“Former education minister (Naeem Akhtar) is the person who wanted such changes in department,” Wani alleged, “the idea is to suppress the teachers forum.”

“Our fight is a fight between the suppressed and oppressors,” he added, “It wont stop us come what may!”
