In a major security breach, an under-trail attacked two lawyers with knife and injured them, one of them severely, in a local court in Bandipora district of north Kashmir.
Identified as Noor Din Gojjar, an under trail, along with his co-conspirators, attacked Public Prosecutor Advocate Shafiq Bhat and senior Advocate Jan Mohammad Mir, inside the CJM court premises.
Shafiq was severely injured and has been referred to sub-district hospital Bandipora.
The attack took place when the under-trial was brought for hearing in a case at the CJM court here.
“The attack was pre-planned by Noor Din and his accomplices,” alleged Jan Mohammad.
Meanwhile, Bar Association Bandipora went on strike and all the petition writers and computer operators also abstained from work demanding strict action against the attackers.
