Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Sunday said that ensuing Lok Sabha election is about protecting the status of the state saying that need of the hour is to ensure the victory of party president from Srinagar parliamentary constituency with a huge margin.
Political advisor to party vice president Tanvir Sadiq on Sunday kicked off a door to door campaign from Umar colony, Bahar colony, Sheikh colony, Nowshehra, Lal bazaar areas of Zadibal Constituency in Srinagar.
While interacting with the people Tanvir said that the ensuing elections are the semifinals against the forces as are hell-bent to destroy the Art 370, Art 35A, which are the articles of faith for us. “People in these elections have to come out in large numbers to ensure that Abdullah secures a victory with a huge margin. This time we are going to vote for the identity and integrity of our state.”
Meanwhile, Party’s General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar asserted that the people of Kashmir need a louder, credible voice to represent them in Parliament saying that Farooq Abdullah with his national standing will ensure that the voice of the state is heard in Lok Sabha.
Sagar while addressing party functionaries, workers at Koolipura locality of Khanyar constituency said that Dr Farooq Abdullah is not a novice to the politics of Kashmir and that there is no one else who can represent the aspirations of Jammu & Kashmir more effectively than him. “People of the state want a credible voice to represent their aspirations in the topmost house of the country. Our party is the only credible voice of all the regions of J&K. It is the National Conference that is credited with establishing a welfare state in the state of Jammu and Kashmir,” adding, “The people of Kashmir remember PDP for unleashing countless miseries on the state. People still recount the numerous blunders PDP and its leadership committed from time to time.”
