Srinagar: The residents of Tahab village in Pulwama district in southern part of Kashmir on Tuesday said that if the government wants normalcy to be restored in the area, they should forthwith shift the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp from the village.

Scores of residents on Monday assembled outside DC office Pulwama and staged a demonstration. The protesters were demanding shifting of the CRPF camp of 182 battalion from Tahab village.

One of the protesters told Kashmir Life over phone that the CRPF camp is a threat and cause of clashes and protests in the area.

A resident of Tahab told Kashmir Life that the area has suffered massive damage to properties while dozens have been injured in the action by the CRPF personnel during clashes in the area.

“If authorities want normalcy to be restored in the area then this camp should be shifted forthwith. Normalcy won’t return till our demand is met,” he added.
