Train services were suspended on Budgam-Baramulla segment after people staged protest over the shortage of drinking water near Mazhama Railway station in central Kashmir’s Budgam.

All the trains scheduled in the afternoon today have been suspended as the route is not clear, said a railway official.

Hundreds of passengers had to face obstacles due to the unprecedented cancellation of trains.

“We were first asked that 3:15 pm train stands cancelled but after waiting for one hour it has been announced that all the trains are cancelled,” said a passenger at railways Baramulla railways station.

Large number of passengers at Budgam station also complained of problems over the lack of transport from station.

However, trains plying on Budgam-Banihal segment are running on proper time.
