Srinagar

Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said that we are happy that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are with us in our fight.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh along with Governor Satya Pal Malik paid tributes to CRPF men at Humhama Srinagar.

Rajnath himself reached Srinagar earlier in the day and lent his shoulder to the mortal remains of a CRPF trooper.

“The nation will not forget the supreme sacrifice of our brave CRPF jawans. I have paid my last respects to the martyrs of Pulwama. The sacrifice will not go in vain,” Singh said.

Asserting that the country will win its battle against terrorism, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, “We are happy that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are with us in our fight. Although, there are some people and organisations who had hand in glove with Pakistan militant groups.”

During a press conference, the Home Minister also said that the Centre has requested to help the families of the CRPF men killed as much as they can. “I have asked officers to review the security of those people who take money from Pakistan,” Rajnath added.

Reports said Rajnath Singh conveyed the decision taken by the Home Ministry with the advice of the Army Commander, DG CRPF and other senior officers that civilian movements shall be stopped, henceforth, whenever big convoy of personnel moves.

They said Singh also meets injured CRPF personnel at Army base camp in Srinagar.

On Thursday forty-nine CRPF men were killed and several others were injured in Lethpora attack along Srinagar Jammu highway.
