Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday said that Congress party are standing with the government for ending terrorism.

Senior Congress leader Azad after all-party meet said that “We had asked Home Minister to convey to Prime Minister that he should call a meeting of presidents of all parties.”

“We have communicated to the Government that what Congress president Rahul Gandhi told in the press conference, that the country is in mourning and is angry,” said Azad.

“Since 1947 apart from war this is for the first time attack has claimed so many lives,” he said.

“We have differences with the government on a number of issues but at this juncture – we are standing with the government for ending terrorism. Militancy has to end,” he added.

All political parties had condemned the attack on Thursday, expressing condolences for the family of those killed and supporting the security forces.
