After days of rains and snowfall, the Jammu and Kashmir Meteorological Department (MeT) on Wednesday said that weather will remain dry in Jammu and Kashmir till January 11.

According to J&K Director of MeT, Sonam Lotus, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the valley till January 11.

He said the night’s lowest temperature in Srinagar was minus 0.4 degree Celsius while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 0.4 degrees Celsius.

Gulmarg, the famous skiing resort in north Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 7.6 degrees Celsius.

The night temperature in Pahalgam – the famous health resort which also serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra – settled at a low of minus 2.0 degrees.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 4.0 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 2.2 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 7.7 degrees Celsius, Katra town 5.3, Batote minus 2.3, Banihal 0.0 and Bhaderwah minus 0.7 degrees as the minimum temperatures.
