SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Saturday said that weather will remain dry in Jammu and Kashmir till October 18.
According to J&K Director of MeT, Sonam Lotus, dry weather is expected to continue for a week and there is no prediction of rain in coming days but there will be light cold in mornings and evenings.
He added that the night’s lowest temperature in Srinagar was 4.9 degree Celsius while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of 4.7 degrees Celsius.
Gulmarg, the famous skiing resort in north Kashmir, recorded a low of 6.5 degrees Celsius.
The night temperature in Pahalgam – the famous health resort which also serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra – settled at a low of 2.9 degrees.
Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 8.1 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of 3.6 degrees Celsius last night.
Jammu city recorded a minimum temperature of 19.1degrees Celsius, Katra town 17.6, Batote minus 12.7, Banihal minus 6.6 and Bhaderwah minus 9.4 degrees as the minimum temperatures.
