The Jammu and Kashmir Meteorological department on Friday said that weather will remain wet till Sunday, April. Low to moderate rainfall is expected in plains, and upper reaches may receive light snowfall.

According to the J&K Director of Met Sonum Lotus, the weather will remain wet from April 17 to April 19.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of 10.0 while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 10.5 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Leh town of Ladakh region was recorded as 4.7 degrees Celsius.

The famous ski-resort Gulmarg in north Kashmir was the coldest place in the region where minimum temperature was 0.4 degrees Celsius.

The temperature in Pahalgam the famous health resort which also serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra was 7.2 degrees Celsius.

Kokernag town recorded a low of 9.1 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of 8.5 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 21.6 degrees Celsius, Katra town 20.5, Batote 12.4, Banihal 11.8, and Bhaderwah 10.8 as the minimum temperatures.
