Officials said the incoming system is expected to trigger intense weather activity across the region, with several areas likely to witness thundershowers and isolated hailstorms. Windstorms may also accompany the disturbance, raising concerns about damage to infrastructure and crops in vulnerable locations.

Authorities have warned of a potential risk of flash floods, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas, as rain intensity may increase during peak activity.

Higher-altitude regions and key mountain passes—including Zoji La, Sinthan Top, Mughal Road, Sadhna Top, and Razdan Pass—are expected to receive fresh snowfall, which could disrupt traffic and connectivity.

While snowfall is primarily forecast for higher elevations, there remains a possibility of light snowfall in middle-altitude areas between 2100 and 2400 meters, though this is considered less likely.

Weather conditions are expected to gradually improve by Sunday, although brief spells of rain may persist in isolated areas.

Residents have been advised to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel to higher reaches, and follow updates issued by local authorities.
