Director MeT Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said, “From May 2 to 5, there is a possibility of brief spells of rain and thundershowers at scattered places, accompanied by gusty winds.”

He said the weather is likely to remain “generally dry” from May 6 to 8. “From May 9 to 11, fresh spells of rain, thunder and gusty winds are expected,” he added.

The department has advised all concerned to follow administrative and traffic advisories. “There is a possibility of intense thundershowers, lightning, and gusty winds (40–50 km/h) at isolated to scattered places,” Dr Ahmad said.

He also urged farmers to plan farm activities accordingly. “Farmers are advised to continue farm operations from May 6 onwards,” he said. (JKNS)
