Wheel Falls Off SpiceJet Aircraft During Take-Off from Mumbai Airport

   

SRINAGAR: A SpiceJet Bombardier aircraft suffered a major technical failure during take-off from Mumbai airport, when one of its wheels reportedly detached from the aircraft, reports NDTV.

The flight, bound for Kandla, was carrying 75 passengers at the time of the incident. The wheel is believed to have fallen off shortly after the aircraft became airborne, prompting emergency protocols.

According to preliminary reports, the flight crew became aware of the malfunction shortly after take-off and coordinated with air traffic control. The aircraft was diverted and landed safely at its destination without further incident. No injuries have been reported.

Aviation authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. SpiceJet has not yet issued a detailed statement, but sources within the airline confirmed that all passengers were unharmed and have been accommodated appropriately.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is expected to examine maintenance records and other technical aspects as part of its inquiry. The incident raises fresh concerns about safety standards in Indian domestic aviation.
